ATA-BDR Appliance

Most businesses under 200 people do not have a solid disaster recovery plan that has actually been tested. And while they may have good backups, that is very different from having good business continuity measures in place allowing their business to run if a critical server has an issue of any kind.

If your business depends on technology always working, and understands that when it isn’t it can be extremely expensive to the business, then you should understand why our ATA-BDR technology is so valuable.

An ATA- BDR is actually a server appliance, and looks like a regular server, that handles backups first and foremost. Those backups of all of your servers can occur as frequently as every 15 minutes. And those backups can be setup to store all of the data off-site every evening, automatically!

But an ATA-BDR is much, much more then a backup appliance. It has the ability to “run” a server in your environment from the latest backups. So lets say your 5 year old mail server doesn’t turn on and you aren’t sure what the problem is and exactly how to fix it. If you had an ATA-BDR then you simply run that server from within the BDR appliance and your staff doesn’t know any different. If two servers are down you can run both those servers! Wow! If your whole environment is destroyed by a fire we can have all of the servers up and running in a couple days. That is business continuity!

So an ATA-BDR is actually a perfect fit for any company looking to have a high availability environment. There are other advantages as well, which we discuss in our December 2nd Business Continuity webinar located at http://www.allenit.com/?p=237. Also, do not hesitate to let us know if you would like a complimentary business continuity assessment.
